In a recent survey our readers felt that Fannie Mae homes for sale are superior to other REOs, such as HUD homes and bank-owned houses. I certainly agree with this assessment. There are many beautiful Fannie Mae homes on the market that are well maintained and ready to move in for owner occupant buyers.
But there are a few exceptions. The house below is one of them …

This Fannie Mae house is a disaster! It needs a lot of work.
This house has been on the market for a while and it was in excellent shape. Unfortunately, the pipes broke this winter and the house suffered considerable water damage. For some reason Fannie Mae did not adjust the price nor repair the damage. No buyer would touch it.
We just got it as a listing. Fannie Mae insisted that we list it for the original price. I know, it is far too high. If the house does not move, Fannie Mae will probably lower the price significantly in a few weeks.
So, why do I feature this property, if it’s not a good deal?
Here’s my reason. Although this house is currently way too expensive considering the poor condition it is in, there’s a really good chance that Fannie Mae will drop the price in the near future.
