We just returned to Columbus from a “business trip” to Aspen, Colorado. We were very lucky our flight was able to land at Port Columbus around midnight after circling for half an hour. And the road conditions driving home were much worse than this morning.
When real estate is your business you always look at what’s for sale in the cities you visit. So, here’s a quick comparison of home sales in Aspen and Dublin.
Aspen vs. Dublin – Comparing Housing Markets
Aspen is a resort town in the Rocky Mountains. With 4 ski areas close by lots of people visit in winter, however, there are plenty of world class events, such as the Winter X Games and the Food and Wine Classic that attract the rich and famous throughout the year.
Here’s my comparison of single-family home sales based on data published by the Aspen and Columbus Boards of Realtors.
2018 Data | Aspen, CO | Dublin, OH |
Population | 7,359 | 47,000 |
Total Sales | 83 (-24.5%) | 599 (+3.8%) |
Average Sales Price | $6,060,699 | $458,069 |
Days on Market | 200 | 50 |
Inventory | 150 | 132 |
Supply | 22 months | 2.5 months |
As you can see, home values are through the roof in Aspen. It’s the same in many of the well-known Colorado ski resorts.

List Now with NO Competition
While Aspen is “HOT” during the winter months, home inventories hit a seasonal low in Central Ohio. I came across this graph below which shows that December and January are the least competitive months for sellers.
Buyers are already out in force and ready to compete before the spring buying season gets in full swing.
Take advantage of the remaining days of January and list your home with little or no competition! Call or text me at (614) 975-9650!
