Muirfield Village is located to the North of Dublin, West of the Scioto River, across from the Columbus Zoo.
Muirfield Village put Dublin Ohio on the map. As the home of the Memorial Tournament, which has been an annual PGA tour event since 1976, Muirfield Village has attracted golf lovers from all over the world.
Muirfield Village was the first upscale, golf-course community in Dublin (and Central Ohio). It is home to 2 impressive golf clubs: the Muirfield Village Golf Club and the Country Club at Muirfield Village.
Muirfield Village can be reached from the South on the Muirfield Drive or by crossing the Scioto River at the O’Shaughnessy Dam.
History
Golf legend and Columbus native, Jack Nicklaus, started developing Muirfield Village in the late 1960’s. The Muirfield Village Golf Club opened in 1974. The first Memorial Tournament took place in 1976, and in 2013 Muirfield Village had the honor of hosting the Presidents Cup.
Muirfield Village Housing
Muirfield Village consists of many different subdivisions. The Estates is a gated community in the center of the golf course, with exclusive, multi-million dollar homes owned by famous Columbus residents and business leaders.
Homes situated along the golf courses sell for a premium. Many are worth $1 million or more. Buyers need to be aware that the Muirfield Association enforces strict design guidelines (cedar roofing and wooden siding) for any home located directly on the golf course.
You will also find condominiums priced as low as $200,000.
The typical Muirfield Village Home not backing up to a golf course is larger than 3,000 sqft, comes with 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and, most of the time, beautiful landscaping. Home values start in the mid $300K range and go up to a million.
As most Muirfield Village homes were built in the 1970’s and 1980’s. Often they have been owned by the same family, so you will find that the interiors may be dated. As a buyer you may be able to purchase a home at a prime location for a discount, if it requires updating.
Restaurants & Shopping
With the exception of the two country clubs, there are no restaurants inside Muirfield Village. There’s a small shopping center at the intersection of Muirfield and Memorial Drives.
Most Muirfield residents will drive down Muirfield Drive to the shopping centers located around Perimeter Drive and Avery Road at the Route 33 exit ramp (near Dublin Methodist Hospital).
The Village of Shawnee Hills at the North East Corner of Muirfield Village (at Glick and Dublin Roads), offers shopping opportunities, as well as a variety of restaurants, including the famous Bogey Inn.
Family & Fitness
There are two private Golf Clubs inside Muirfield Village: the Muirfield Village Golf Club and the Country Club at Muirfield Village.
If membership in one of these exclusive clubs is out of reach, you can play at Riviera Country Club, just West of Avery Road, or at the Safari Golf Club located beside the Columbus Zoo, East of the Scioto River.

Residents can also enjoy 2 recreation facilities with swimming pools, tennis courts and playgrounds for the kids. One is located at Glick Road (across from Carnoustie Dr), the other one off Muirfield Drive (at Tarton Drive).
